Harlequin T90 Hop Pellets

Harlequin is a cutting-edge aroma hop developed by Charles Faram’s hop breeding program in the UK. As the daughter of Godiva, Harlequin combines bold fruit character with brewing versatility. It delivers an expressive tropical fruit profile and works well across multiple stages of the brewing process, especially in late additions and dry hopping.

Aroma & Flavor Profile

Harlequin brings a dynamic and juicy aromatic character:

  • Primary aromas: passionfruit, peach, pineapple

  • Supporting notes: subtle citrus and tropical undertones

  • Overall character: vibrant, fruity, playful — a hop that steps forward without overwhelming other brew elements

This hop is often praised for its brightness in pale beers and its ability to contribute deeper marmalade or candied fruit nuances when paired with darker malts.

Technical Specifications

Parameter Typical Range

Beta Acids 7.0 – 9.0 %
Cohumulone 27 – 31 % of alpha acids

Harlequin is classified as a dual-purpose hop — it can contribute bitterness in the boil yet really shines when used late or as a dry hop, thanks to its aromatic richness.

Brewing Applications & Styles

  • Best use: Late boil, whirlpool, dry hop (especially in aroma-forward beers)

  • Styles: IPAs, Pale Ales, Hazy Ales, modern experimental lagers

  • Blend compatibility: Pairs well with fruity, tropical, or citrus-forward varieties

  • Role in recipes: Can be used as a spotlight aroma hop or a supporting character in complex blends

Brewer’s Tip: Use Harlequin liberally in late or post-fermentation additions to preserve its delicate tropical aromatics. It can also handle moderate early additions, but its prime value lies in aroma expression.

Storage & Handling

  • Store cold (ideally ≤ 4 °C) in airtight, oxygen-barrier packaging

  • Keep protected from light

  • Use within 6–12 months for optimal aroma integrity

  • Always reference lot-specific alpha acid data when formulating brews

Summary

Harlequin Hop Pellets deliver a fruity, juicy, and tropical punch to your beer. With robust aromas of passionfruit, peach, and pineapple, it’s a hop designed to make its presence felt without overwhelming. Ideal for late-hop usage and dry hopping in modern, hop-forward brews, Harlequin offers brewers expressive yet balanced complexity.
