Crisp Premium Distilling Malt (often referred to as Premium Pot Still Malt) is specifically engineered for the high-efficiency requirements of modern distilleries. Sourced from the low-nitrogen barley of North East Scotland, it is malted to maximise extract and fermentability. Its GN-free status is critical for safety and spirit quality, eliminating the precursors that lead to ethyl carbamate during distillation. The malt provides a clean, honeyed, and slightly sweet cereal profile, offering enough diastatic power to convert its own starch and that of other speciality grains. This reliability makes it the preferred base for traditional pot still distillation and on-grain fermentation where spirit yield and purity are the primary objectives.
