R38.00 incl. VAT

Boadicea Hops has a delicate aroma of orchard blossoms and grass. Subtle spicy character. She is seen as an aromatic hop yet she has enough alpha content to produce a well-rounded bitterness. The perfect hop to use in a Pilsner and unique as there is no replacement for this hop bred, that is aphid resistant and exhibits resistance to mildew.

Light-bodied and rounded bittering characteristics, an excellent hop for finishing and dry hopping.

Origin/History

Released by the Horticulture Research International (HRI) at Wye College in the UK in 2004, Boadicea is a product of the ‘open crossing’ of aphid-resistant hedgerow varieties.

Agronomics

The world’s first aphid-resistant variety, Boadicea is the most environmentally friendly hop available on the market. As well as its natural resistance to aphids, the variety also has good resistance to wilt and downy mildew and so requires much fewer pesticides than any other hop.
