Although there is no cream in it (aaahhhhhh!!!), a Cream Ale is considered to be “an Ale that drinks like a Lager”. Quicker to ferment than a lager yet sharing the same qualities, this beer was seen as a great way to serve the masses and make money off it. This beer became popular when the German population rose in the United States in the late 19th century.
A crisp, light-bodied pale ale, using a warm fermentation and cold lagering and the use of maize to give it a lighter body and flavour.
