Crisp Clear Choice® Pale Base Malt

Developed from a specially bred barley variety that lacks polyphenols (tannins), Clear Choice® addresses the primary causes of chill haze and oxidative staling at the source. By removing the precursors for haze formation during the malting process, brewers can achieve brilliant clarity in both cask and bottled beers without the need for chemical stabilisers, finings, or heavy filtration. Beyond clarity, the absence of polyphenols results in a smoother mouthfeel and reduced bitterness, allowing the pure, honeyed malt notes to shine. It is also highly valued for its ability to prevent oxidative darkening, ensuring your beer stays fresh and pale for longer.

  • Rate: 80% to 100% of the grist. For maximum haze-resistance benefits, it is recommended to use Clear Choice® as the primary base malt.

Storage and Handling
