Compare traditional hop products against advanced alternatives — cost, IBU and wort-loss analysis for professional brewers. Adjust each row to match your certificate of analysis and supplier pricing.
Calculation Notes
• IBU uses the Tinseth model with a temperature-based isomerisation factor (~100% at boiling, ~55% at 90°C, falling sharply below 80°C). Whirlpool and hop-stand IBUs are inherently approximate.
• FLEX® is modelled in the kettle boil; Redihop® at its documented post-fermentation dosing point (a kettle path is offered but is not the manufacturer-recommended use).
• Wort-loss values for LupoCore™, Cryo Hops® and LupoMAX® are estimates — only the T90 figure (14 L/kg) is manufacturer-published. LupoMAX® (John I. Haas) is dosed at 50–70% of the T90 rate, so most of its saving comes from using fewer kilograms.
• Default alpha and price values are starting points — adjust each row to match your certificate of analysis and supplier pricing.
